I started my journey at SUNY Nassau in 2001 as a student myself. In fact, I have now taught in some of the same classrooms I was once a student in! I teach Introduction to Physical Geology, Historical Geology, Field Lab Geology, and Beaches and Coasts.
I'm honored to have been chosen as a SUNY Chancellor's Award Recipient for Excellence in Faculty Service. In addition to teaching my students, I also enjoy coordinating and hosting the Annual Science Fair held each year on campus. I am constantly amazed and inspired by some of my prior professors, who I'm now colleagues with today!

I served in the United States Navy in Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, II and at Camp Pendleton with the 5th Marines. I was also deployed to Okinawa, Japan twice. Stateside, I knew that ¸Û°Ä±¦µä has a reputation for being very military friendly, and when I got here, it was true.

My major is Biology and I am in my second year at NCC. I originally came to ¸Û°Ä±¦µä because of the smaller class sizes and proximity to my home but the terrific faculty and flexible class schedules are great as well. As a science major, I would have to say one of my favorite experiences at Nassau has been the hands-on work that we do in the labs during biology classes.

There's nothing like the nights after a day of competition, where, after dinner, we get together to review our ballots (judges' reviews of our performances that day), discuss them, and practice our events in front of each other.

In November, I had to interrupt my studies because my army unit (766 Belmore Co) became the first Long Island unit to be activated to go to the Gulf War. After graduating, I went to SUNY Binghamton, where I finished a BA in English and Literature; an M.A.T. (Master of Arts in Teaching) in English Education and a Ph.D. in in Comparative Literature.

I work as a Respiratory Technician in Manhattan. I deliver and set up home respiratory equipment to patients with all types of illnesses all over the Tri-state area. Normally our primary patients are 9/11 first responders but now, of course, I go to a lot more COVID-19 patients who need oxygen or other medical supplies.
