Daniel Acevedo is a graduate of the ¸Û°Ä±¦µä- SUNY Empire State College Multi-Award Nursing Program

"Going back to school was honestly the best choice for me.  As an adult student, I felt focused and goal driven because I knew the expectations of the real world. The ¸Û°Ä±¦µä- SUNY Empire State College Multi-Award Nursing Program prepared me for my future in so many ways. I hope to use everything I have learned as I apply for a master's degree in Nursing Administration."

The Nursing Program was also the right fit because it allowed me to continue working full-time while I took courses.  The schedule of the ¸Û°Ä±¦µäprogram and the flexibility of the online classes made balancing work, education and life easier.

One of the fondest memories I have from my time in the program is actually the first day of Nursing 101.  It was both exciting and gut wrenching.  I'm sure I was surrounded by classmates who shared the same feelings -- tons of information was being given to us, yet we knew deep down that completing the program would shape us into great nurses.

The program has prepared me for my future in many ways.  I learned great time management skills working full-time and going to school full-time.  Reading many chapters, completing lots of homework and studying for exams taught me how to handle stress.  Finally, my clinicals helped me to develop my bedside manner and critical thinking skills.  I hope to use everything I have learned as I apply for a master's degree in Nursing Administration."
