Are You Interested In Applying For Early Admission?

High school students who have completed their junior year in high school may be eligible to enroll as full-time freshmen at NCC.

Although credits completed as an Early Admission student may apply toward a certificate or degree program, you are NOT considered to be degree-seeking (matriculated) students until achievement of a high school diploma. Arrangements made with the high school can allow successful completion of the freshmen year at ¸Û°Ä±¦µäto meet requirements for the granting of a New York State high school diploma.

CHECKLIST FOR EARLY ADMISSION STUDENTS

Requirements for Early Admission candidates:

  • Completion of the junior year (11th grade) in high school
  • Completion of at least 16 academic units of college-preparatory work in high school
  • Achievement in high school that places the student in the top 20 percent of the high school class
  • Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT) that demonstrate strong evidence of intellectual ability and academic readiness to do college work
  • Sufficient emotional maturity to cope with and benefit from an early college experience as evidenced in an interview with counselor from the Admissions Office
  • Permission (recommendation) of the high school principal or counselor

The application fee of $55 must be submitted with your application. Your application cannot be submitted without this payment.

Certain degree programs have earlier deadline dates. While in high school, candidates for Early Admission may not apply for these programs.

(If a deadline falls on a weekend, applications and all supporting credentials are accepted through the following Monday.)


Check mark Submit all required documents as soon as possible. 

Documentation includes a copy of your official high school transcript and SAT and/or ACT scores as well as communication from your high school principal or counselor approving your readiness and participation for the Early Admission program.

Please note, ¸Û°Ä±¦µä reserves the right to request an applicant complete a third party evaluation for academic documents from outside of the Unites States. The evaluation company must be members of AACRAO, NAFSA, NACES, AICE, ATA and Better Business Bureau.


Check mark Interview with an Admissions Counselor.

You will be invited to meet with an admissions counselor when the required documentation is submitted. Attendance at this interview is required.       


Check mark Schedule an appointment for the College's Placement test. 

Incoming students do not need to take the College’s placement test if they qualify for test exemptions based   on scores from SAT or ACT testing. If, however, your test scores do not exempt you from one or more of the sections the college’s placement test, the Admissions Office will contact you. Learn more about these exams.


Check markImmunization records:

If you were born on or after 1/1/1957, and are registering for six or more credits, New York State requires you to submit proof of immunization for measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) in order to secure your registration for classes. You must also submit the required NYS meningitis survey. Go to Health Services to learn more.


Check markSign up for your My¸Û°Ä±¦µäPortal Account:

This portal account gives you access to most information and activity you need as an ¸Û°Ä±¦µästudent. You can monitor your application process, also register for classes and pay your tuition bill through your My¸Û°Ä±¦µäPortal account.

Go to and click on the My¸Û°Ä±¦µäicon on the upper right hand corner. New students: use your ¸Û°Ä±¦µäID number (N-number) which will be sent to you from the Admissions Office after you have submitted your application and application fee. Your date of birth is your initial password (mmddyy)
